The Association of "Friends of Hellenic Culture" was founded in Sofia. It is a non-profit legal body and is based in the HFC's Centre in the Bulgarian capital (51, Benkovsky Str.). Aim of the Association is to disseminate the Hellenic culture in the Republic of Bulgaria.

President: Mr. Kiril Liubomirov Topalov, professor of Bulgarian literature and ex-ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Greece.Vice-president: Mrs. Nadia Hristova Danova, professor of Balkan Studies. Secretary: Mrs. Sanya Stankeva Velkova-Kozouharova, professor of Balkan Studies.

The first event of HFC's Centre for 2010 was organized in co-operation with the newly formed Association of "Friends of Hellenic Culture". The vice-president of the Association, professor of Balkan Studies Mrs. Nadia Danova, gave a lecture entitled "The role of the Greek Enlightenment in the Modernization of the Bulgarian Society of 19th century".
