Greek language courses were completed successfully at the HFC Centre in Sofia. Duration of the Greek language courses: October 12, 2009 - June 24, 2010. The Centre offered six courses at all levels: four for beginners, one for intermediate students and one for advanced. Sixty three students of all ages attended the classes: employees in the private and public sector and students. Two more intensive courses for beginners will be completed next month. The courses started in January 2010. The first course took place at the HFC Centre and the second at the Chipita company in Bulgaria (for its employees). So, the total number of students that attended the Greek language courses at the HFC Centre was one hundred.

The main handbook used in the language courses was the teaching method "Greek Language", by the President of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, Prof. George Babiniotis. The teaching material also included more methods, such as "Modern Greek for foreigners" by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, "Greek for foreign speakers" by Sapfo Mauroulia and Evangelia Georgantzi, "Modern Greek for beginners and advanced" by Prof. Stoina Poromanska" , "Communicate in Greek/3" by Froso Arvanitaki, as well as the series "Filoglossia +" with the kind support of the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. The students also had the chance to attend educational TV programmes about Greek history and culture.
Honorary prizes were awarded to the best students (sixteen in total), while all the students who completed the courses successfully, got certificates.
